I love t-shirts. Even in the winter, I wear them almost daily, even if they are buried beneath a few layers. I also like simple designs, suggestive shapes and outlines in solid block colors and shades. The balance of bare material to printed is crucial; too little and the design floats, unattached. Too much and it starts to look like something you’d pick up at Virginia Beach.

Dupont Circle
Tracing a simple outline of the major roads that form the nexus of Dupont Circle, the spiritual home to the gay community in Washington, D.C. By simplifying the image to just these lines, then pushing the design as far to the edge of the material as possible, I was able to obtain a shape that feels like it is pushing out from all sides of the shirt.

Heartwalker
Spirt Day is a relatively new phenomenon, and as I refuse to shop at American Apparel (seriously, you should as well. They treat women like shit) finding a tolerable purple t-shirt was a challenge. So I designed Heartwalker. Love conquers all, kids.

Tiny Lives, Big Love
My favorite line from the amazingly creepy/funny/mesmerizing House of Yes.

It Gets Bitter
A few notes here: I take the It gets Better campaign to heart…I have teared up at nearly all of them (even the slickly produced corporate ones. I’m that much of a sucker). The idea of LGBTQ youth suffering in silence breaks my heart. This shirt is just a catty riff off the ubiquitous campaign, and I sincerely hope no one takes any offense.

It BURNS
Keeping with the movie homage, my everyone’s favorite line from the campy classic, Trick.
