Godsfall

I had no plans to make Godsfall. I had no plans to make a podcast. I just wanted to relearn Dungeons and Dragons.

I have never learned well from books. Anything that has ever stuck with me was because of direct experience. I need to hold a camera and take a thousand pictures, not read about light theory. When I sought to learn the new fifth editing D&D rules, pulling that knowledge from the Player’s Handbook was daunting.

And then I found my first actual play podcast. Listening to people play was almost as good as being at the table, but I quickly realized there were some problems too my plan of learning the game via audio osmosis. There was little or no editing, it was frequently difficult to separate voices from one another, and most importantly: I had no idea if the people I was listening to were getting the rules right.
